About me

Timmy Mooring attended Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego where he completed an Environmental Studies degree while playing varsity soccer. One of his first jobs in conservation was an internship at the California Wolf Center where he was involved with animal husbandry, facilities, and education. He loved getting to interact with guests and talk about conservation while sharing an experience. After graduating in 2022 he worked a season for AmeriCorps doing forestry in Colorado, where he got to be part of the physical implementation of conservation projects before starting an internship in Costa Rica at the Quetzal Education Research Center. There he helped maintain long-term research projects and facilitate a semester study abroad group. He returned to this internship the following year, doing ecological monitoring for the BLM in New Mexico in between. He landed in Montana in 2024, doing ecological monitoring for the University of Montana before starting an MFA program at Montana State University in Bozeman, learning science and natural history filmmaking. Since starting filmmaking, he has worked on a variety of projects with interesting people, places, and wildlife, including a summer internship in Zambia shooting and making videos for the Zambian Carnivore Program. He hopes to be involved in many more future projects, making films for conservation.
